K-2 Story Adventures S1

Make the leap from page to stage! In our Elementary Story Adventures classes, students will deepen their appreciation for the arts through the exploration of new and classic children’s literature. Artistic expression, performing confidence, peer collaboration (and silly storytelling) will all be in the spotlight for this fun-filled 6-week session.

Play Lab: The Night of Knights (3rd & 4th)

Are you ready to slay the dragon? Dive into the realm of collaborative storytelling, thinking up an entirely original show from scratch while traveling back in time to the land of kinghts, dragons, and castles. Together, we'll use improv to generate ideas and discover one-of-a-kind characters, weaving the best of what we've made into our brand-new play.
Mondays 3:30-5:00pm September 18th - November 6th (No class October 23rd)
This class is for 3rd & 4th grade actors.
Basalt Middle School Playmakers
with Joseph Grosso

Students in PlayMakers will utilize their self expression, creative writing skills, and embrace their inner actor in order to produce a short, original play. This play will be based off of a theme the class decides on and will be presented at the end of the semester. Along the way, students will grow their skills in improvisation, self-confidence, playwriting, basic theatre terminology, and of course performing. This class is open to ALL BMS students and is sure to be a fun time!

Musical Theatre Technique: Belt It Like Broadway

Do you love singing and performing in musicals? Want to feel more confident at your next audition or performance? In this class, students will learn how to develop a healthy singing technique, improve musical skills, and how to interpret and perform a song in an ensemble. Skills will be focused on character creation and ensemble singing
Thursdays 4:30-6:00pm, September 21st - November 16th (No class October 26th)
This class is open to 5th-8th grade singers.

Musical Theatre Dance: Feeling Fosse (7th-12th)
with Vanessa Strahan

Get your Rep in check with Feeling Fosse, where we'll explore Bob Fosse's iconic choreography from Chicago, Damn Yankees, and Sweet Charity. These classics are necessary tools in any musical theatre dancer's vocabulary, so beef up your knowledge of one of Broadway's most notable choreographers, focusing on longer format combinations and performing as we're learning.
Tuesdays 4:30-6pm, November 14th - December 19th (No class November 21st)
Open to 7th-12th Grade Dancers, recommended for dancers who have some level of experience and consider themselves at Intermediate or close to it.
