This Tony Award-nominated, hilarious, roller skating, musical adventure about following your dreams despite the limitations others set for you, rolls along to the original hit score composed by pop-rock legends, Jeff Lynne and John Farrar. Based on the Universal Pictures cult classic movie of the same title, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, Xanadu is hilarity on wheels for adults, children and anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired.

Actors in this production will work with peers to bring to life the glitz and glamor of the roller disco to life in all it’s 80’s glory in a fully realized production, and receive specialized training in acting, vocal technique, and dance, as well as the opportunity to participate in workshops and masterclasses from industry professionals.

2nd - 4th Bust a Move

Leap into this camp for all the movers and shakers! Inspired by the hits from all your favorite Broadway musicals, Bust a Move is an opportunity to hone dance skills with an emphasis on technique and performance. Boot, Scoot, and Boogie your way through this high-energy camp ending in a showcase of all the routines we have perfected this week. 

Camp will include dance, design, and outdoor team time.

It’s Christmas in July, and we are spreading cheer by singing loud for all to hear!  Join Buddy the Elf on his voyage from the North Pole to New York City to connect with his family. Campers will learn songs and dances from the hit musical: Elf! and weave them into an original tale of love, discovery, and candy spaghetti to perform in front of loved ones!

For campers who are ready for their closeup! Step into the ring light with this session for budding on camera performers! Students are provided with a plethora of opportunities to perform and create different characters all while learning the secrets of the movie trade. Create your very own Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, write your future Oscar acceptance speech, and work with friends to create original shorts!

Camp will include writing and acting for film, design, and outdoor team time.

Flex your triple-threat muscles! This powerful one week camp strengthens the core Musical Theatre skills of singing, acting and dancing. Young actors will perfect an audition-ready monologue and song, tackle choreography in practice-dance calls, and conclude with a mock-audition panel and feedback from Theatre Aspen’s artistic team.

Oh the thinks you can think when you think about SEUSS!! Everyone’s favorite Dr. Seuss characters are springing to life in this imaginative camp session. Campers will explore the Jungle of Nool, Planet of Who, Circus Mcgurkus, and McElligot's Pool. Camp concludes with an original performance using the songs and dances from this award-winning musical.

“Which way to the stage?” This session will strengthen the musical and dance skills required of the next generation of Broadway stars! Actors are asked to come in with a prepared monologue and song and receive critique on their auditioning skills, as well as participate in a professional style dance call. This session features callback material, including cold reading and sight singing, resume-building, and workshops with our Theatre Aspen Performance Apprentices. All culminating at the end of the week in another round of mock-auditions, this time in front of Theatre Aspen’s artistic staff and members of the MainStage summer acting company, followed by a Q&A with our Broadway actors. If you’re ready to step up your game and prepare for the world of professional auditions, this camp experience is for you!

Actors are: Laura Stracko (Diana the Musical), Thom Warren (Disney’s the Lion King), Mikayla Agrella (Anastasia). Both Laura and Thom have performed with Theatre Aspen before and we are thrilled to have them back for Come From Away.
